Wine Tasting at Martha’s Vineyard with Bodegas Gratias
One Vineyard. Four Friends. A Mission to Save Forgotten Grapes.
🎬
More Than a Winery — A Real-Life Vineyard Sitcom
Imagine if Friends took place in rural Spain.
Now replace the coffee with wine, the apartments with a sun-drenched vineyard, and the sarcasm with soul.
That’s Bodegas Gratias:
🍇 A group of friends who became family.
👨‍🌾 A family who became winemakers.
🌱 Winemakers who are quietly changing the future of wine — one rescued grape at a time.
Meet Ana, Iván, Silvia, and Jose:
Four people who walked away from city jobs and stable careers to pursue something radically simple—and incredibly hard.
They moved back to the countryside, picked up the tools of their ancestors, and started making wine the way it used to be made: by hand, with heart, and in harmony with nature.
They didn’t set out to build a brand.
They set out to build a life worth living.
🍇
What is Bodegas Gratias?
It’s a winery rooted in Casas-Ibáñez, La Manchuela — about 100 km from Valencia.
It’s a tribute to tradition, terroir, and the belief that wine should be honest, expressive, and sustainable.
From day one, they had one mission:
💥 Rescue native grape varieties — Tardana, Pintaill, Coloraillo — on the verge of extinction
âś‹ Craft wines by hand, with no shortcuts
🌿 Let the land lead, with minimal intervention and deep respect
They don’t manipulate the wine.
They accompany it.
Because for them, wine isn’t just something you make.
It’s something you live.
🍷
The Wines We’ll Taste
Each bottle is a love letter — to the land, to the past, and to the people behind it.
🌞 Sol 2024 – Vibrant and alive, just like a sunny day in the vineyard
💧 Rius 2023 – Flowing and fresh, a reminder that everything moves and evolves
🏖️ Soy Arena 2022 – Light and delicate, from sandy soils that whisper old secrets
🌍 Soy Arcilla 2022 – Bold and earthy, with the grounding force of red clay
🪨 Soy Caliza 2022 – Crisp, chalky, and full of quiet strength
Each wine has a different personality — just like Ana, Iván, Silvia, and Jose.
But they all come from the same heart.
🌿
Why This Tasting Matters
This isn’t about buzzwords like “natural” or “organic.”
This is about saving a legacy.
It’s about wine as a human act — a gesture of gratitude to the land, to time, and to those who came before.
When you drink Gratias, you’re not just tasting wine.
You’re tasting:
❤️ Friendship
🛠️ Sacrifice
🧠Curiosity
🔥 Rebellion
🎉 Joy
💫 …and yes, a little chaos. (Ever tried running a vineyard with your best friends?)
