About The Wine

El Puntido is one of those wines that makes you rethink what Rioja is capable of. It comes from a single 21-hectare vineyard in the high-altitude village of Páganos in Rioja Alta — a unique parcel of Tempranillo vines planted at 600 metres on limestone and clay soils. The result is a Rioja with real individuality: concentrated, structured, and layered in a way that sets it apart from the blended style typical of the region. The 2022 vintage was warm but not brutal, and El Puntido wears the year well — rich and expressive, with the kind of depth that rewards patience.

  • Deep garnet, almost opaque at the centre, with a ruby-red rim. A wine with obvious density and presence — the colour alone tells you this is serious.
  • nose_line Complex and generous: ripe blackberry, morello cherry, and plum at the fore, underpinned by warm notes of vanilla and toasted oak, a touch of tobacco, dried rose petals, and mineral earth. There is real elegance behind the power.
  • Full and mouth-filling, with structured tannins that are ripe and well-integrated. The fruit is rich and concentrated — dark cherry, black plum — with beautiful oak framing rather than dominating. Long, mineral finish with hints of spice and dried herbs. A wine with an excellent future ahead of it, though it drinks beautifully now.

Bodegas El Pago de Páganos is the creation of the Eguren family, one of Rioja’s most respected wine dynasties. Their estate at Páganos in Rioja Alta centres on a single vineyard — El Puntido — that has become their flagship project. The vineyard’s high altitude, limestone-clay soils, and continental climate produce Tempranillo grapes of extraordinary concentration and character. The wines are aged in French oak barrels, with attention to minimising intervention and letting the terroir speak for itself. In a region defined by blending, El Puntido’s single-vineyard purity makes it a genuine standout.

By completing this booking you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

Consent

You warrant that you are over 18 years old.

Group Coordinator.

In order to book your event we require a single coordinator of your group. As the Group Coordinator you are responsible for all communications with Martha’s Vineyard. You ensure that all group members are at least 18 years old. You will be responsible for the payment of any deposit and final payment at the event. The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full.

Deposit

To Conform your booking we require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid before the event.

Changes to Booking

You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 10. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event.

Refunds

Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking.
Up to 14 days prior to the Event – 100% refund
Up To 7 days prior to the Event – 50% refund.
Less than 7 days prior to the Event – no refund.

Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 3 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event.
