Meet The Winemaker

Jesús Madrazo
Jesús Madrazo, former winemaker of the infamous Contino Single Estate in Rioja Alavesa, has now released an eponymous set of wines. His 2017 vintage, limited release Rioja is, as would be expected, an exceptional wine that has already received great praise from the global wine world. As the fifth generation of the founding family of CVNE in Haro, Jesus was destined to be a winemaker and when he was handed the reigns at Contino Estate, Rioja DOCa’s first single estate winery, in 1999, he never looked back. Launching a series of acclaimed wines including the first single-varietal Graciano, and the single plot Vina del Olivo, he achieved world-wide praise for his skill. In 2017 he left to pursue his own projects and the results were instantly recognisable and garnered international praise. By sourcing grapes from old contacts, friends and family, he was able to continue the art of blending (“painting with wine”) to craft sensational wines from Rioja and Ribera del Duero His Crianza 2017 is a perfect example of the art of blending: using the best small, old-vine plots of Tempranillo and Graciano from high altitude vineyards around the village of Cuzcurrita del Rio Tirón in Rioja Alta subzone, and Garnacha from a small plot in the warmer Rioja Oriental subzone. Aged meticulously for 14 months in 2 and 3-year-old French and American oak barrels, the wine was bottled in September 2019

By completing this booking you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

Consent

You warrant that you are over 18 years old.

Group Coordinator.

In order to book your event we require a single coordinator of your group. As the Group Coordinator you are responsible for all communications with Martha’s Vineyard. You ensure that all group members are at least 18 years old. You will be responsible for the payment of any deposit and final payment at the event. The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full.

Deposit

We may require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid at the event.

Changes to Booking

You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 6. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event.

Refunds

Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking.
Up to 14 days prior to the Event – 100% refund
Up To 7 days prior to the Event – 50% refund.
Less than 7 days prior to the Event – no refund.

Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 4 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event.
