The jewel of the crown at Fillaboa boasts the freshness of a young albariƱo wine and the complexity and elegance of a fine white wine. La Fillaboa 1898 fills us with pride and sends shivers down our spine by simply remembering the last sip we took of this wine. This is no wonder seeing as this wine is made exclusively with the best wines from the eight plots on the Fillaboa estate, a terroir with a sandy and rocky texture, due to its proximity to the MiƱo River, awarding it good drainage, perfect for keeping our vines in optimum condition 365 days a year.
One day the winemaker awoke with the idea to see how her albariƱo wine would behave over time. And so, she (Isabel Salgado) made the decision with the 2010 vintage, one of the most balanced and best vintages in the history of Fillaboa, to leave this albariƱo wine on fine lees for a minimum of 6 years aging. The result was amazing, leaving us in awe.
This white wine stuns at first sight: it is a clean and bright straw-yellow colour with golden glints and a unique and delicate tone. When we stop to contemplate its aromas, we discover a toasty aroma with a candied fruity background, reminiscent of baked apples and bakery products. La Fillaboa 1898 is a smooth wine, with very well integrated acidity, volume and long persistence. It is ideal to pair with fish dishes, poultry, Japanese and Oriental food.
This DO RĆas Baixas wine has won several prizes, to mention a few; Best White Wine in Spain 2020 from the Spanish Association of Wine Journalists and Writers (AEPEV). La Fillaboa 1898 has also achieved high points in competitions such as Decanter 2019, Best in Show with 97 points, also 97 points in GuĆa PeƱĆn 2020, 96 points in the GuĆa Gourmets 2021 and 95 points in the Special Report on RĆas Baixas 2022 by Tim Atkin.
With La Fillaboa 1898 (DO RĆas Baixas, 100% albariƱo) Fillaboa has achieved to pay a true tribute to 1898, the year when their albariƱo wines first crossed the ocean on a sailing ship heading for Cuba.

| Group Coordinator. | In order to book your event we require a single coordinator of your group. As the Group Coordinator you are responsible for all communications with Martha’s Vineyard. You ensure that all group members are at least 18 years old. You will be responsible for the payment of any deposit and final payment at the event. The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full. |
| Deposit | We may require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid at the event. |
| Changes to Booking | You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 6. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event. |
| Refunds | Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking. Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 4 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event. |
