About this wine

It all began in 1886 when the ancestors of todays 6th. generation of wine makers, decided to embark on a unique challenge. At that time, only a few believed that the region could become a benchmark for wine.
Waiting for the region to prosper and cultivating other types of subsistence crops was the most prudent idea. Trying to expand grape cultivation was, however, their new reason for being.

This was the origin of the Finca La Picaraza winery.

La Picaraza

Finca La Picaraza has been making wine in the DO Utiel-Requena since 1886 — that's five generations of the same family, in the same village of Las Casas (Utiel), with the same conviction that old vines and honest winemaking are all you need. The fifth generation produces entirely by hand, from manually harvested dry-farmed vineyards at 850 metres above sea level, with a limited production of just 2,500 bottles of their flagship Bobal.Bobal is the indigenous grape of this high plateau, and La Picaraza treat it with the respect it deserves: cement tanks following family tradition, 16 months in American oak, and grapes from old vines that have survived without irrigation because the altitude and continental climate do what irrigation cannot. The Peñín Guide gave them 92 points. The family probably cared more about making 139 years worth of ancestral promise into a beautiful bottle.

You warrant that you are over 18 years old.

Group Coordinator.

In order to book your event we require a single coordinator of your group. As the Group Coordinator you are responsible for all communications with Martha’s Vineyard. You ensure that all group members are at least 18 years old. You will be responsible for the payment of any deposit and final payment at the event. The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full.

Deposit

To Conform your booking we require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid before the event.

Changes to Booking

You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 10. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event.

Refunds

Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking.
Up to 14 days prior to the Event – 100% refund
Up To 7 days prior to the Event – 50% refund.
Less than 7 days prior to the Event – no refund.

Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 3 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event.
