Everything started in 1898 when the Bouachon family moved to Châteauneuf-du-Pape to start making barrels for the winemakers of the region. After several years they learned the secrets of winemaking and decided to fill in their barrels with their own wine this time. That is how the Maison Bouachon was born!
The Crozes-Hermitage appellation is the largest vineyard in the north, extending over 11 Drôme municipalities on the left bank of the Rhône. Formerly planted with fruit crops, this vineyard was consecrated local A.O.C in 1937. Maison Bouachon reveals with “La Maurelle” all the typicality and character of this appellation from the north of the Rhône Valley, where the only grape variety authorized for red wines is the Syrah. Coming from the southern region of Crozes-Hermitage, the vineyard develops on terraces of rolled pebbles brought by the Rhône and the Loess. Syrah is the only grape variety that makes up “La Maurelle” cuvée. The work begins in the vineyard with the selection of the plots with the best exposure. The Syrah undergoes a semi-carbonic maceration for about twelve days at a controlled temperature with frequent pumping over. After fermentation, this wine is returned to the cellars at Châteauneuf du Pape, where it is aged for 9 to 12 months in barrels.

| Group Coordinator. | In order to book your event we require a single coordinator of your group. As the Group Coordinator you are responsible for all communications with Martha’s Vineyard. You ensure that all group members are at least 18 years old. You will be responsible for the payment of any deposit and final payment at the event. The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full. |
| Deposit | We may require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid at the event. |
| Changes to Booking | You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 6. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event. |
| Refunds | Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking. Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 4 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event. |
