Malpuesto is a red wine made by Bodegas Orben in the D.O. La Rioja, at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria. Bodegas Orben belongs to the Izadi Group, a group that owns other well-known wineries such as Villacreces in the Ribera del Duero, or Vetus in the D.O. Toro.
Malpuesto is a single-varietal Tempranillo variety from Finca Malpuesto, a farm planted in 1931 and today one of the oldest vineyards in La Rioja Alavesa. Its name, Malpuesto, comes from the irregular arrangement in which the vines were planted.
The farm is located on a hillside and has an area of 1.2 hectares. The soil is a sandy and poor soil, which yields a low yield but of great quality.
The harvest is carried out manually in small 15 kg boxes. Once in the winery, the grapes go through strict selection before being vatted. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature and very gentle pressing is applied before aging in barrels for approximately 15 months.
Malpuesto is a unique red wine from La Rioja, with character, from a very special old vineyard and with a limited production of just over 5,000 bottles.

| Group Coordinator. | In order to book your event we require a single coordinator of your group. As the Group Coordinator you are responsible for all communications with Martha’s Vineyard. You ensure that all group members are at least 18 years old. You will be responsible for the payment of any deposit and final payment at the event. The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full. |
| Deposit | We may require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid at the event. |
| Changes to Booking | You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 6. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event. |
| Refunds | Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking. Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 4 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event. |
