Majada de Reyes, of Bodegas Muro in collaboration with Jesús Madrazo, aged for 15 months in 500-liter French barrels and a concrete tank. Garnacha from 118-year-old vines located on a single farm in La Rioja Alta. Only 1500 bottles.
Very favorable weather conditions throughout the entire vegetative cycle, including the harvest.
Rainfall from January 1 to September 30, 2021 was about 130 liters/m2 less than the previous year, which meant an average reduction of 30%, highlighting the months of July and August without any significant rainfall.
The temperatures during the vegetative cycle of the year 2021 were lower than those of the last years and, especially, those of the year 2020.
The months of July and August had an average temperature of one degree less than the previous year and the sum of temperatures between April 1 and September 30 was about 130oC less than last year. There were only two days of very high temperatures (July 22 and August 14) with maximum temperatures around 38oC.
These lower temperatures and rainfall contributed to a greater synthesis and less degradation of anthocyanins and aromatic compounds, which caused an anthocyanin content in red grapes of the order of 40-50% higher than the average content of the last twenty years, as well as of the aromatic charge.
In addition, the extension of the harvest period favored a phenolic ripening without acceleration and a selective harvest.
This wine does not undergo aggressive stabilization treatments, so it is possible that some natural precipitate appears.
Elaboration: The grapes were collected on October 21, 2021, by hand, in 500 kg boxes. Once in the winery, it was passed through the selection table and then it was destemmed. It ferments in a stainless steel tank at a controlled temperature of 22oC, for 8 days with very light pump-overs, then it goes to the vertical press, which maintains the quality of the process. Malolactic fermentation took place in second-year 500-litre French oak barrels. The aging was maintained in these bocois, for 9 months.

The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full. |
| Deposit | We may require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid at the event. |
| Changes to Booking | You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 6. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event. |
| Refunds | Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking. Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 4 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event. |
