A wine, for every day, the kind you serve to disconnect. This is the character that Carmen Pérez, with the help of winemaker Basiliio Izquierdo, wants to give to Selvanevada, a red wine made at the Villota winery, in the Rioja Alavesa. You have ever heard that a glass of wine a day is good for the heart, right? The person responsible for this, which everyone knows -but nobody knows where it came from- was René Favaloro, an Argentine cardiologist who assured in a study that the polyphenols contained in a glass of wine a day were good for health. Selvanevada is the perfect wine to carry out this medical prescription.
The soil of the D.O.Ca. Rioja illuminates the grapes of this red. It is the San Rafael farm, located right in a meander of the Ebro river, in the town of Laserna. From it, made up of 113 hectares, different varieties are selected to make Selvanevada.
In the cellar, the fermentation process of Selvanevada will be fundamental since, during the 12 days that it lasts, pump-overs and deletages are carried out. Thanks to this last technique, which consists of removing the wine from the tank and returning it in full fermentation, it favors its oxygenation and the corresponding increase in the number of yeasts (for which oxygen is essential to reproduce in the early stages of fermentation). After this time, it is devatted and two days later it is transferred to French barrels, where a malolactic fermentation will take place and the lees are separated in 3 rackings.
Finally, the 6 months of aging will end up giving Selvanevada all the character that makes it the best wine to taste on a daily basis.

| Group Coordinator. | In order to book your event we require a single coordinator of your group. As the Group Coordinator you are responsible for all communications with Martha’s Vineyard. You ensure that all group members are at least 18 years old. You will be responsible for the payment of any deposit and final payment at the event. The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full. |
| Deposit | We may require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid at the event. |
| Changes to Booking | You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 6. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event. |
| Refunds | Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking. Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 4 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event. |
