Villota Mazuelo 2021
The wish for a new single-varietal, Mazuelo de Villota, is fulfilled.
The maximum representation of a scarce grape that is difficult to grow, which on the estate is expressed with kindness and complexity, highlighting this magnificent and sometimes forgotten variety.
Delicacy of blue flowers and the essence of rose petals. Sweet and spicy spices very well put together, and fruity finesse on the palate. Very elegant.
After a mild winter and a very dry spring, June began with heavy rainfall, highlighting the hail storm that significantly affected several areas of the vineyards. Recovery came during the summer, of unusual freshness and notable drought, contributing to the good development of the clusters. The September rains, very well received, fattened the grapes without harming their excellent state of health. The unusually long harvest offered grapes of extraordinary quality.
100% Mazuelo from the “Corazón” plot, planted in glass in 1985, on the upper terrace of the vineyard, at 450 m altitude. An area of 2.5 hectares, aerated, on a gentle slope that favor the cultivation of this variety.
The grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks, after manual harvesting and passing through the selection table in the winery. The must, gently bleeding from the grapes, passes to 225 liter lightly toasted French oak barrels, where it remains for 10 months. Malolactic fermentation in barrels with periodic batonage.
It was bottled on February 14, 2023.

| Group Coordinator. | In order to book your event we require a single coordinator of your group. As the Group Coordinator you are responsible for all communications with Martha’s Vineyard. You ensure that all group members are at least 18 years old. You will be responsible for the payment of any deposit and final payment at the event. The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full. |
| Deposit | We may require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid at the event. |
| Changes to Booking | You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 6. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event. |
| Refunds | Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking. Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 4 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event. |
