The vineyards from which VS Murua comes are between 20 and 55 years old. The soils are mainly clayey, with some clay-calcareous soils standing out. For this wine, those plots that have a good percentage of clay and they are chosen, to guarantee the freshness and fruit that will be appreciated in this wine.
Because the winter was very wet and the temperatures were higher than normal, sprouting was early. The presence and constant work in the vineyard were essential to establish strategies and control the Mildew caused by humidity, which disappeared with the high temperatures at the end of August. The harvest took place on September 30 and October 1 in good conditions.
2020 was characterized by being a year with a large amount of fruit, with optimal yields and good ripening conditions, which resulted in a good health condition of the grapes. These are key factors to ensure a quality wine like this VS Murua.
PREPARATION AND AGEING
Spontaneous fermentation at temperatures between 24 and 27 degrees. Soft pump-overs, “delestage” and little oxygenation in the alcoholic fermentation. Maceration between 10 and 15 days. Aged for 16 months in French (40%) and American (60%) oak barrels.
The 2020 vintage was classified as very good. VS Murua is characterized by being a wine with great personality, elegance and fruity expression. It is a seductive wine, a true reflection of the place from which it comes (“Sierra Alavesa”) and the vintage (2020), fantastic for wine lovers.

| Group Coordinator. | In order to book your event we require a single coordinator of your group. As the Group Coordinator you are responsible for all communications with Martha’s Vineyard. You ensure that all group members are at least 18 years old. You will be responsible for the payment of any deposit and final payment at the event. The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full. |
| Deposit | We may require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid at the event. |
| Changes to Booking | You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 6. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event. |
| Refunds | Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking. Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 4 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event. |
