Just when you think you know about Spanish wine you meet Steve Sanchis for a chat. Quickly you realise you know practically nothing about Spanish wine. But Steve’s relaxed and charming and humorous style is never intimidating. It is encouraging and inspiring and most of all, memorable.
Steve’s passion for wine started as a young boy. Often he would see his father studying a good glass of wine. It was a time when the bottle labels would explain a bit more about the notes of the wine. He would question his father about how real those descriptions of red fruit, caramel and oak were.
His Father would say “Steve you are very young and your nose is not trained yet to appreciate these aromas. Go to the farm and get a fresh strawberry open it and smell it. That aroma is the real aroma of red fruit. Little did they knew how wine would become not only Steve’s passion but his life’s work.
Today we are thrilled to welcome you to this special wine tasting event featuring the esteemed wine expert, Steve Sanchis. With an impressive depth of knowledge and a genuine passion for Spanish wines, Steve has spent years exploring the diverse and vibrant wine regions of Spain.
From the unique reds of Sardón del Duero to the crisp whites of Rías Baixas, he has an intimate understanding of the unique characteristics that make Spanish wines so exceptional.
For this tasting, Steve will guide us through a curated selection of exquisite wines, sharing his insights, stories, and expertise. Prepare your palates for an unforgettable journey through Spain’s rich viticultural heritage. We will open the delights of Abadia Retuerta S.E. 2018 Magnum! And Pago Negralada 2018.
