Barbuntín is a white wine of the Albariño variety that the Quinta de Couselo winery produces in the D.O. Rias Baixas.
Quinta de Couselo is located in Santa María de Oia, a monastery built in the 12th century facing the Atlantic Sea, between the towns of A Guardia and Baiona. But although the farm has been producing wines with limited productions in the O Rosal sub-area for more than 150 years, it is from 2013 that it becomes the property of Grandes Pagos Gallegos de Viticulture Tradicional. An initiative carried out by a group of oenologists and viticulturists who want to promote native varieties in those areas where they can best express themselves.
Barbuntín comes from 8 hectares of 30-year-old vineyards arranged in arbors and planted on mostly granite soil with notes of slate and schist. They have an Atlantic microclimate with mild temperatures, abundant rainfall and hours of sunshine. The harvest is manual in boxes of 15 kilos and is immediately transported to the winery.
The grapes are placed in a cold room at 5ºC and pass through a selection table. The whole grape is destemmed and macerated, then it is pressed for 2 hours in pneumatic pressing and the musts are separated. Barbuntín ferments at a controlled temperature and is aged on its fine lees for 3 months in stainless steel tanks.
Barbuntín is a white wine that has been considered the “Best Albariño in the World” at the 2018 International Wine Challenge Awards and has won the Platinum Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards (97 points).

| Group Coordinator. | In order to book your event we require a single coordinator of your group. As the Group Coordinator you are responsible for all communications with Martha’s Vineyard. You ensure that all group members are at least 18 years old. You will be responsible for the payment of any deposit and final payment at the event. The final payment may be split between members of your group but you take sole responsibility that the final payment is completed in full. |
| Deposit | To Conform your booking we require a 50% deposit of the total payable amount for your event. The balance must be paid before the event. |
| Changes to Booking | You may make changes to the number of guests in your party prior to the event provided that you do not fall below the minimum acceptable group count of 10. You must inform Martha’s Vineyard of your requested changes and receive confirmation that the changes are acceptable. Please note: You will not be able to remove guests from your party within 5 days of the event. You may add guests to your event up until 2 days prior to your event. |
| Refunds | Once you have completed your booking you may request a refund of any deposit if you cancel your booking. Please note that if you wish to cancel the booking entirely or in part less than 3 days prior to the event you will be required to pay the full price of the event. As group coordinator you are solely responsible to complete this payment on or before the date of the event. |
